A woman is a change-agent, she just needs an opportunity.
This International Women's Day, we want to inspire, empower, invest in and embrace financial inclusion of women in Africa living in poverty. Together, we can provide that opportunity to help a woman access finances and build their future.
Of those living below the $2 a day poverty line across the globe, women are 28% less likely than men to have a bank account. Unfortunately, women living in poverty are more vulnerable to forced labor, malnutrition and violence. The greatest challenge facing these women is not lack of knowledge or motivation, but a lack of access financial services, low financial literacy and no training to launch businesses support their families, educate their children and strengthen their local economies.
In families where women have an income, they have a voice in financial decisions, resulting in better nutrition, health and education for children – especially girls.
