Move for Opportunity

Are you looking for a fun way to make a difference? Join our 100 mile virtual challenge and earn your very own Move for Opportunity medal posted to your door.

When you sign up, you’ll get to join Opportunity team members Noah, Maria, Diana and Daniel as they take you on a behind-the-scenes journey from our office in Kampala, along the shores of Lake Mburo and into Nakivale Refugee Settlement in Southwest Uganda. Along the way, you’ll get to know our incredible team, see the beautiful sights of the journey, and hear about our work transforming the lives of refugees in Uganda.

The route spans 100 miles and can be completed however you choose – running, walking, cycling, swimming, roller skating, moving with mobility aids – it all counts! When you complete the route, you’ll be sent your own Move for Opportunity medal in the post.

FAQs

How do I access Move for Opportunity? 

To join Move for Opportunity first purchase your entry code using the form above. You will then receive an email containing your MedalMad entry code. When you have your code, download the MedalMad app or visit our MedalMad page here and enter your code to join the challenge.

 Do I have to run?

You can take part in Move for Opportunity however you like, as long as you are moving it all counts.

How do I log my progress?

Logging your progress is all done through the challenge portal within MedalMad using the 'log activity' button, every time you add distance travelled, you'll move along with the team in Uganda along the map closer to your next milestone. Alternatively, if you are a Strava user, you can connect your MedalMad account to Strava to log your distance automatically.

What is MedalMad?

MedalMad is the platform we have partnered with to deliver this challenge. They host a range of virtual challenges that encourage us to all get out and be more active. When you complete a challenge on MedalMad, you will be sent a unique medal to commemorate your acheivement.

How do I get my medal?

When you sign up to MedalMad, provide the the address that you would like your medal delivered to. Once you complete the challenge, your Move for Opportunity medal will be automatically posted to you by MedalMad. Please send in pictures of you with your medal for our Movers' gallery!

Where does my money go?

All of the funds raised will make an important contribution to the work we do, enabling our teams like Noah, Maria, Diana and Daniel to continue supporting people across sub-Saharan Africa to build more secure futures for their families.
